Experience

LinkedIn

Senior Software Engineer August 2023 - Present – Chicago, IL (Remote)
  • Building a Kubernetes-backed batch scheduling platform to support Machine Learning, Big Data, and other job tenants.
  • Leading the migration of LinkedIn's CI workloads to our Kubernetes Job Platform.
  • Leading the design, development, and migration of a full-stack Kubernetes-backed serverless and short-lived job platform to power internal short-lived serverless jobs, agentic workflows, and critical cronjobs. Implementing smart colocation and stacking to reduce host usage by 95% versus the previous stack.
  • Created a multi-region Kubernetes federation service for the data and control plane which powers multi-cluster workload and job routing, security auditing, fleet analytics, and CRD-level UI for LinkedIn's hundreds of clusters. The service handles the storage and lifecycle of billions of updates to over 200 million stored CRDs daily.
  • Serving as the tech lead on LinkedIn's legacy scheduling, deployment, and container systems. The team owns all the microservices from the schedulers and topology stores to the on-the-box deployments and the custom runc-backed container system.
Software Engineer June 2022 – August 2023 – Chicago, IL (Remote)
  • Migrated 60k hosts from legacy clusters to LinkedIn's stateful scheduler and deployment system. Fixed numerous bugs and limitations in the scheduler and deployment stack to support these large clusters.
  • Solved a performance regression on production model executions as compared to their benchmarks. Discovered the sensitivity of these models to noisy neighbors that would invalidate the CPU cache. Created the PoC for CPU pinning on the internal scheduler which solved the issue and was later adopted by the Kubernetes schedulers for these workloads.
  • Fixed poor assumptions in internal autoscaling tooling which blocked OS upgrades for the 100k hosts with allocations of autoscaling-enabled applications.

AWS

Professional Services Consultant - Security Consultant August 2020 – May 2022 - Chicago, IL
  • Worked on internal and external engagements mainly utilizing AWS, Python, Terraform, Agile to create automated security for AWS infrastructures.
  • Participated in interview loops as a technical interviewer
  • Created projects utilizing S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Step Functions to showcase serverless development.
  • Trained presentation, writing, and solution-architect skills in a dedicated cohort-program, "AWS Tech U".
  • Culminated the Tech U program with a month-long capstone project that resulted in internal solutions for AWS.
  • Achieved the SA Associate, Developer Associate, Sysops Admin Associate, SA Professional, Developer Professional, and Security Specialization Certificates.
